singing in the rain
Friday, October 7
oh, how i miss the rain. i haven't been close to the rain for a while. every time it has poured, i was either sleeping, or cooped up somewhere in a room, far from the rain.
but the rain today was so glorious :D and i'm really glad God sent down the rain. i was actually rushing to get home before the rain came, so i could avoid it. but as He would have it, the rain started to pour with increasing intensity on my journey on the bus. i felt so brilliantly joyful as i looked out of the window, with those raindrops splashing against the window, and the constant prattle of the rain on the top of the bus. so so happy that i had to send bynes a random text, hahaha XD
ah, i've missed the rain so (: it was so good to feel so close to it again. that organic feel, of being a part of nature and creation, just singing praises to God (: i was smiling to myself on the way back, hehe :D and to be honest, i was quite happy that my trip was being delayed with the heavy traffic haha!
when i got off the bus, i draped my jacket around myself and my bag, and used an umbrella to shelter the rest of me. haha and it felt even better! rain all around! i just had to start singing (:
"rain down; all around the world we're singing
rain down; can You hear the earth is singing
rain down; all around Your people singing
rain down, rain it down."

Rain Down, performed by Jesus Culture
one of the great things about the rain is that the falling raindrops are so noisy, that nobody else can hear even if you're singing at the top of your lungs. especially since few people will be out braving the heavy rain. muahaha!
joy just continued to spring from my heart, and i skipped and hopped around, over the huge puddles along the pavement. it didn't matter that my shoes and bottom of my pants were starting to get damp with the water that i couldn't avoid, and that would splash back up when i landed lightly into those puddles. it added to the fun, in fact. i stretched out my left arm from under the umbrella and let the rain fall onto my forearm, feeling the cool, refreshing touch of water from the heavens. oh, it was certainly blissful. what a way to end the school day (:
haha when i got back home and set my shoes to dry, my dad asked me why i didn't take off my shoes to walk home. yea, why didn't i think of that myself! that would've been so fun! i actually have a good mind to do it. to take off my footwear and socks, roll up my pants till just below the knees, and make my way back home in the pouring rain. sure, i may look like a delinquent or a barbarian, especially in the more or less atas neighbourhood that bukit timah is. but i shan't care. even now, to just imagine the cool feel of the water in every step, the rough touch of the pavement supporting my foot sole, and perhaps the occasional earthy feel of soil and mud brushing against my toes... wow. i can't wait. like, seriously :D
sometime in the near future, perhaps. nothing but God, nature, and me (:
i'm singing in the rain! what a glorious feeling, i'm laughing again!
